A local prisoner who was convicted of murdering his wife in 2011 has filed for an appeal through the Hocking County Common Pleas Court.
William Inman II, 28, requested a new trial after being sentenced to life in prison. He was charged with and convicted of aggravated murder, kidnapping, tampering with evidence and gross abuse of a corpse.
However, the appeal is still in its beginning stages and no new trial dates have been set, a Hocking County Clerk of Courts Legal Division spokeswoman said.
Inman II and his parents, William Inman I, 48, and Sandra Inman, 48, were found guilty of kidnapping and murdering Summer Cook Inman, 25, who was in the midst of a divorce and custody battle with Inman II.
Summer’s body was found a week later, strangled in a septic tank behind a Nelsonville church.
The Hocking County Prosecutor could not be reached for comment.
