Chan Marshall, also known as Cat Power, was announced as the Friday headliner for the 2013 Nelsonville Music Festival, Monday afternoon.
Sixteen more artists were announced Monday including Tift Merritt, Shilpa Ray, The Honeycutters, William Tyler, Catherine MacLellan, Wussy, The Sundresses, Wheels On Fire, Todd Burge, J.D. Hutchison, Jerry David DeCicca, Olentangy John, Rattletrap Stringband, Unmonumental, J.J. Reed and Weedghost.
The critically acclaimed indie rock artist emerged in the ’90s for her soulful and revealing lyrics. She will be promoting her newest 2012 album,
Sun
, her first in six years.
Marshall will play along side other festival headliners Wilco, John Prine, Gogol Bordello and Mavis Staples.
Single day tickets are now on sale for $75 and the full four-day weekend pass will cost $110.
