Just two days after Friday’s debate on whether or not Ohio University’s Beautification Day was a success, organizers of the event have announced plans for a “Re-Beautification” Day.
The debate, held in Bentley 117, lasted about two hours and covered topics ranging from the beautification day being a success to the beautification day not being a success.
Jordan Reede, co-chair of the OU Beautification Day Facebook page, said she thinks that the day was a success.
“I think Athens looks more beautiful,” Reede said. “I’d definitely say all the hard work we put in was a success.”
Reed Jordanne, co-chair of the OU Schmoo-ti-fi-schmation Day Facebook page, said he thinks that the day was not a success.
“I think Athens is still pretty ugly,” Jordanne said. “In fact, I’d like to shave its butt and tell it to walk backwards. If I did that, then I think Athens would be more attractive at that point.”
Despite disagreements between the groups, Reede said plans to execute a “Re-Beautification” Day are in full swing.
“I just want Athens to be beautiful,” Reede said. “I just really, really want this to happen. Don’t judge me.”
