Pest Editorial: Now you, too, can read 'The Pest' on the toilet while exerting an exceedingly minimal amount of effort

Because The Pest is a print newspaper, some of our readers might get the impression that we don’t care about the environment. That is untrue.

We understand that we produce a large amount of paper that goes to waste on campus, plastering the sidewalks, sitting in newsstands and carpeting the floor of our favorite Baker Center restrooms.

That’s why we’re starting a new initiative to reduce our carbon footprint: We’ll be delivering the papers straight to their final resting places, instead of relying on you to do it for us.

“But wait,” you might be thinking, “wouldn’t that increase your emissions?”

The answer is “probably not, but we aren’t really sure.” By our math, our delivery drivers won’t have to go as far as they did before — they can now toss papers out the window as they drive through town on the way to the most popular campus restrooms (Baker fifth floor and Ellis basement, we’re looking at you).

We like to be in touch with our readers, and we hope this makes it easier for you to enjoy The Pest wherever you’re most comfortable, whether it’s sitting on the toilet or lying facedown in the street. Thanks for reading!
