Ohio University’s Division of Student Affairs announced three finalists for the Dean of Students position Thursday afternoon.
Jenny Hall-Jones, the current interim Dean of Students, Greg MacVarish, associate vice president of Student Affairs at the Adler School of Professional Psychology, and J. Malcolm Smith, assistant dean of students at the University of Illinois at Chicago, were selected by the screening committee.
“I look forward to getting to know them all and see how they interact with the campus community,” said Ryan Lombardi, vice president for Student Affairs. “I look forward to meeting the candidates that will be helping me take Student Affairs forward for the next couple of years.”
The university will host open forums during the upcoming weeks that will introduce candidates to students and give opportunities for questions to be asked and answered.
All campus open forums will be held at 11:00 a.m. in 503 Baker University Center. Hall-Jones’ is on April 9, Smith’s is on April 15 and MacVarish’s is on April 16.
Also, there will be “students-only conversations” held between students and the finalists. Hall-Jones’ will be 7:00 p.m. April 8 in the Honors Collegium in Baker Center, Smith’s is 7 p.m. April 14 in the 1804 Lounge in Baker Center, and MacVarish’s is 7:00 p.m. April 16 at the 5th floor atrium of Baker Center.
