Dean finalists announced for OU regional branches

Two of Ohio University’s regional campuses are preparing for a change in leadership.

OU’s Eastern and Zanesville campuses have announced their finalists for their vacant dean positions to replace outgoing Rich Greenlee who served as interim dean of both campuses since 2008.

The Eastern campus narrowed the nationwide search down to four finalists; Zanesville campus selected two.

Paul Abraham, current associate dean for academic affairs and associate professor of mathematics at OU-Lancaster, is an Eastern campus candidate and the only finalist who has taught at the university. He has worked at OU’s Lancaster campus since July 2010 and received his doctorate in mathematics from Kent State University in 1993.

Shawn Holliday is the second Eastern campus finalist and is the associate dean of Graduate Studies at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He has also served as an associate English professor and chair of the English, Foreign Language and Humanities department at the same university.

Eric Lambert received a doctorate in criminal justice from the State University of New York at Albany and is an Eastern campus finalist. He has served as an assistant and associate professor of criminal justice and was appointed chair of Wayne State University’s department of Criminal Justice in 2008.

Thomas Maraffa is the only finalist being considered for both campuses. He has worked at Youngstown State University since 1985 and is currently a geography professor. He has also served as senior associate to the President at Youngstown.

Richard Sax, a finalist for Zanesville, currently serves as dean of instruction, chief academic officer, and a professor of English at University of New Mexico’s Valencia campus.
