Monday is William Willan’s first day on the job as Ohio University’s executive dean for regional higher education.
He will oversee OU’s five regional campuses and the Pickerington, Proctorville and Cambridge centers. Willan will make $177,000 in the 2013-14 school year.
Willan has also served as dean and associate professor of English at OU’s Southern campus. He made $143,925 in the 2012-13 school year. He’s also been OU’s coordinator of academic development for regional higher education, assistant vice president for regional higher education, associate vice president for academic and student affairs for university outreach and regional campuses and interim executive director of eLearning, according to a news release.
"He has significantly advanced the work of the regional campuses and centers in all areas. I am grateful for his professionalism, his collegiality, and his passion for Ohio University,” said Pam Benoit, executive vice president and provost, in the release.
The position was made vacant in June 2011 after Dan Evans retired. OU-Zanesville Dean Jim Fonseca has been serving as interim.
