Alden Library will close at 1:30 a.m. and reopen at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday morning due to a leaking pipe.
The library's water main will be shut off at 1:30 a.m. to conduct emergency repairs to a pipe in the building's sub-basement, said Kate Mason, assistant to the Dean of University Libraries.
"The water main is being shutoff so we'll have no hot or cold water," Mason said.
The information was sent out via email to library employees at 3 p.m. by Kelly Broughton, assistant dean for research and education services, Mason said. The library had no additional information about why the pipe broke or any damage it may cause at this time, Mason said.
OU spokeswoman Katie Quaranta had no further information as of press time.
