Update: OU freshman found dead in dorm on South Green over weekend

Saying it could be weeks or months until the investigation is complete, Ohio University Police Department Chief Andrew Powers said Saturday that the death of freshman Michael Robinson poses no threat to the university community.

"(His body was found) very early (Saturday) morning, around 5 a.m.," Powers said. "We're simply investigating circumstances and events leading up to the death."

Powers would not conjecture about the cause of death or the state Robinson was in when he was found.

Robinson was found in Atkinson House on South Green, away from his residence in Foster House.

He was a freshman studying psychology and pre-physical therapy. Robinson was from Mentor, Ohio, near Cleveland, where he attended Lake Catholic High School. He graduated in 2013, according to the Mentor Patch.

Robinson played football at Lake Catholic, wearing number 10 in the running back position, according to the Patch.

The high school hosted a vigil for Robinson's friends and family Saturday evening, the Patch wrote.
