A 21-year-old female reported to Athens City Police she was sexually assaulted early Friday morning, authorities said.
The female said she was assulted on the city’s east end by an unknown suspect, described as a white male, college age, with blonde hair, according to a news release from APD officer J. L. Emerick.
The police report was filled at 3:09 a.m.
The release went on to say that police are still investigating and more information "pertinent to public safety" may be released as it is discovered.
Citizens are being asked to "stay alert" and should contact officers at 740-592-3313, or crime solvers anonymous at 740-594-3331, with any information they believe valuable in solving this case.
