Athens Police confirmed Tuesday that an alleged rape, which was video recorded and spread over social media this weekend, involved an Ohio University student.
"An Ohio University student reported she had unconsenting sexual conduct with a male," according to a police report released Tuesday.
The report indicates that alcohol was involved and confirmed that the incident took place Saturday morning between 1 a.m. and 6 p.m. on South Court Street.
The report doesn’t name the victim but indicates she is a 20-year-old white woman with brown eyes and hair.
It was unclear if anyone who shot the video or spread screenshots online can or would be charged.
