Those relieved to drive down a decongested Park Place might be disappointed starting Oct. 21.
Park Place will be closed to westbound traffic Oct. 21-24 once again to take care of follow-up repair work, said Harry Wyatt, associate vice president for Facilities.
“I think it has to do with correcting a drainage issue related to the work that was done recently,” Wyatt said. “It’s certainly no additional tunnel failure or anything like that.”
Separate from the possible drainage issue, Facilities will be looking to shore the underground tunnels, or support them with columns, Wyatt said.
The project, which will cover all the tunnels under Park Place, is estimated to cost $85,000 from state-appropriated funds, Wyatt said.
The project will be brought before the Ohio Board of Regents to have the budget approved in the next two years.
