After last year’s November election, which included a presidential campaign, the low number of political attack ads in recent months might have been refreshing for those in Athens County. Still, the election of several local officials, as well as decisions on three public issues, will be decided at the ballot box Tuesday.
Seats on Athens City Council and the Board of Education are up for grabs, as is a township trustee spot.
A .5 mill tax levy — which amounts to five cents for every $100 of valuation — for emergency medical services and two issues regarding electric aggregation will be decided on as well.
The Athens County Board of Elections this summer considered closing the Jefferson Hall polling location at 46 E. Green Dr., but the location will remain open for voting Tuesday.
Athens County Board of Elections has a “Polling Location Locator” on its website. You can also check your voter’s registration card for more precinct information.
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
