The University Program Council is hosting a fun-filled event Thursday in honor of the release of
Catching Fire
, the second film in the
Hunger Games
trilogy.
The event will be held on the second floor of Baker University Center and will feature archery, craft activities and games with prizes.
Kasi Reed, a UPC creative events executive, said the event was planned in response to a successful
Hunger Games
-themed event that UPC sponsored last September.
The event last year was held on College Green.
“With the recent release of the movie and its success, we couldn't be happier to have an event happening to add to the hype,” said UPC President Samantha Caulfield. “We're really excited!"
The event will be UPC’s last for Fall Semester. About $2,000 has been set aside from UPC’s budget to put the event together.
“I’m very much looking forward to it,” said Sarah Sterling, a freshman studying English and a fan of the series. “I really like that the school is acknowledging that there’s
Hunger Games
fans here.”
