Students on East Green might have to change their shower schedules Wednesday.
Ohio University’s Facilities will turn off hot water on East Green on Wednesday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. for emergency repairs, according to an email sent to East Green students Tuesday afternoon.
Peter Trentacoste, executive director of Residential Housing, said in an email he sent all the information he received from Facilities to provide as much warning to students as possible.
The water will be shut off to fix a three-inch hot water line in a utility tunnel, said Mike Gebeke, executive director of facilities management, in a statement.
Facilities will cut out the broken section of pipe and either replace it or put a clamp on the section, depending on the severity of the break, Gebeke said.
“This is not a freeze repair,” Gebeke said. “It is just wear and tear.”
