UPDATE 10:00 a.m.:
All Monday classes are canceled and Ohio University's Athens campus will remain closed until 5 p.m.
Student activities are able to resume at 5 p.m., according to the university's emergency alerts website.
Dining halls and dining courts, including West 82, will remain open and operate with normal hours.
The following facilities will also remain open:
Ping Recreation Center: noon until normal closing time
Baker University Center: noon until normal closing time
Alden Library: Learning Commons opening at noon; entire library opening at 5 p.m. until normal closing time
Campus Care and Counseling and Psychological Services will be closed.
Athens County government offices are also closed Monday, according to the county's emergency management agency.
Ohio University's Athens campus and the City of Athens are shutting down for a bit on Monday morning because of the weather, authorities said.
OU is closed until 11 a.m. Monday.
Athens City offices are closed until noon on Monday. Municipal Court is on a “regular” schedule, according to the city’s website.
The university emailed and texted students around 6 a.m. All residence halls and dining halls will remain open.
“NO classes or activities should be held prior to the 11:50 a.m. start time,” according to the email.
CATS, CATCAB and Courtyard transportation will not run until then, according to a tweet by OU Transportation.
Athens has about four inches of snow on the ground, according to the university's Scalia Laboratory.
