Amol Kharabe, an Ohio University business professor who is facing multiple charges involving child pornography, pleaded not guilty Thursday to 12 felony charges.
Kharabe’s bond was set at $50,000 and he was required to sign a release on his own recognizance, according to a press release from Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn's office.
His jury trial is scheduled for May 6
.
The charges include nine counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, second degree felonies, as well as one count each of pandering obscenity, illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material or performance and one count of possessing criminal tools, all of which are felonies of the fifth degree.
Kharabe is accused of possessing a laptop that was found to contain child pornography around Sept. 18, 2013, Blackburn stated in the release.
The case was investigated by the Athens Police Department.
