During my 11 years as Athens County prosecutor, nothing was more important to me than seeking justice.
Often this meant presenting cases for prosecution and sending offenders to prison, but sometimes this meant looking at a case and deciding that justice was better served in ways other than criminal prosecution. I hired Pat Lang over a decade ago as an assistant prosecutor because he shared my view that every case should be judged individually on its own merits.
I thought he was the right person with the compassion to not only help me prosecute serious felony crime and protect victims but also to not forget that everyone deserves to have his or her case evaluated from an impartial and knowledgeable prosecutor. It is these qualities that the public looks for in a judge.
Pat Lang is the right person to serve as judge of the Athens County Common Pleas Court. He’s smart, he’s ethical, and he understands the importance of treating all parties with dignity and respect. He has the experience, as well as the energy, to be an outstanding judge.
I’m voting for Pat Lang on May 6, and I hope you do too.
C. David Warren is a retired Athens County prosecutor.
