Despite its latest tuition increase, Ohio University is one of the nation's best value public universities for students, according to a new ranking.
The Fiske Guide to Colleges ranked OU No. 14
on its annual list of “best buy” colleges throughout the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom for 2015.
The rankings are based on the cost of tuition as well as the quality of the university’s academic programs.
The Fiske Guide to Colleges was founded by a former education editor for the New York Times, Edward B. Fiske, in 1982, according to the guide’s website.
Other colleges on the list included Arizona State University, the University of Florida and the University of Oregon.
This is not the first time OU has been ranked on such a list. In 2013,
out of twelve colleges where students would get the “best bang for their buck.”
University officials were happy OU was included on the 2014 list.
"It is always a delight to hear positive news about Ohio University, espeically from a third-party source," said Katie Quaranta, an OU spokeswoman, in an email.
