A fire has ravaged Nelsonville's Historic Public Square, according to posts on social media.

The fire started around 10 p.m. Saturday, according to Post reporters on scene, and residences surrounding the area have been evacuated.
Firefighters from Nelsonville, York Township, Logan, Athens and The Plains are currently on scene, putting out fires at McFadden Insurance Services and the Hocking College Art Gallery, respectively.
