Jenny Hall-Jones, current dean of students

Jenny Hall-Jones named OU's interim vice president for Student Affairs

Dean of Students Jenny Hall-Jones will be the interim vice president for Student Affairs while a national search is done for Ryan Lombardi’s replacement.

Jenny Hall-Jones has been named Ohio University’s interim vice president for Student Affairs in the wake of current Vice President Ryan Lombardi’s imminent departure for Cornell University.

Hall-Jones will still serve as dean of students and plans on splitting her time between Cutler Hall and Baker University Center.

“I still want to be the dean of students for Ohio University,” she said.

She said she will shift some of her responsibilities to members of her team to accommodate the extra vice president duties.

Lombardi’s last day with OU is July 3. Hall-Jones starts as the interim vice president July 1.

Hall-Jones told The Post in May after Lombardi’s departure was announced that she has no desire to apply for the position, something she reiterated earlier this week in an interview with The Post.

“I do love my job as dean of students,” she said.

The university is launching a nationwide search to fill Lombardi’s position.

Hall-Jones, who took over as dean when Lombardi became vice president, said she will miss Lombardi greatly.

“He’s been a wonderful mentor to me,” she said.
