“I mean it when I say it, this was one of the wins I think I have enjoyed the most in my last year and a half here,” Coach Deane Webb said. “That kind of passion and that kind of fight… I’m not lying, I held it back from the team, because it almost put me to tears."

A trio of attackers in Shelby Walker, Jaime Kosiorek and Katie Nelson led the Bobcats in kills with a total of eight, while Abby Gilleland led the team in assists with 27.

In the third set, freshman libero Erica Walker added three impactful aces early to help Ohio put away VCU. Walker finished her second appearance with the Bobcats in efficient manner with five total aces and no errors.

Also in the last set of the match, freshman outside hitter Stephanie Olman tallied the first kill of her collegiate career.

The Bobcats will wrap up the Mortar Board Premier at 7:30 p.m. in West Lafayette, Indiana and will pursue a 3-0 start to their season against tournament host Purdue (2-0).
