No classes for some: Lindley Hall closed Monday due to power outage

After an overnight power outage, Lindley Hall has been closed with professors located in the building being told to work remotely.

Ohio University officials announced at 2:00 p.m. that OU Facilities Management employees located the cause of last night's power outage in a news release.

The power outage was traced back to a transformer at Lindley Hall, the news release said. The repairs were completed late this morning.

As of 7:55 a.m. Monday morning, Lindley Hall was closed due to an overnight power outage.

The building is still not accessible as of press time, but crews will potentially have the building back up and running by 6:00 p.m, the release said.

Staff members with offices in the building are being asked to work remotely, according to the university’s website.

Classes are to be held as scheduled. Students are advised to contact their professors if classes are usually held in Lindley Hall.

An additional news release will be made around 7:30 p.m.
