Post Haste: We break down costumes for the Athens Halloween Block Party; Marching 110 got a Twitter shoutout

Star Wars costumes will be popular this year.

Good morning. Here's what you need to know for Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015:

The Athens Halloween Block Party is less than two weeks away.

The city’s population will swell, due mostly to swarms of inebriated young people in costume. That much is certain. What is less certain is what those costumes will look like.

A recent survey from the National Retail Federation shows that Star Wars and Batman characters are two of the ten most popular adult Halloween costumes this year, though it doesn’t stipulate which specific characters are most popular.

Tied for tenth is an ambiguous “political” category.

And according to Mic.com, female-oriented costumes will likely be less revealing than in years past.

Citing an industry expert, Theresa Avila says a combination of a shift in American culture and changing fashion tastes are leading to the decline of  “sexy” costumes.
