‘Post’ endorses Todd Grace for Judge of Municipal Court

The long time attorney and acting judge is running unopposed for the position.

Judge of Municipal Court: Todd Grace

A solid background is critical when it comes to the person in charge of a courtroom. That’s why we have chosen to endorse Todd Grace for Athens County municipal court judge.

Grace, who is running uncontested, worked as an attorney for 14 years and as a magistrate in juvenile court for 13 years. He has also been an acting judge in municipal court.

During his endorsement interview with The Post, Grace spoke about how spending so much time in court has shown him how to deal with cases appropriately.

Athens will benefit from someone like Grace in office, as he has spent a large portion of his life in a courtroom learning how a judge might act. He has also discussed with the current judge what he wish he would’ve known going into the position.

Grace has several ideas for change that will be great adjustments for Athens, including the possible restructuring of the diversion program as well as moving toward electronic filing of tickets, which would greatly benefit law enforcement officers in Athens County.

As an Ohio University alumnus, Grace also understands what it is like to be a student in Athens and continues to have connections to the university. We firmly believe Grace will help develop a legal environment that is both fair and constructive for OU students in Athens.

Endorsements represent the majority opinion of The Post's executive editors.
