Patton College of Education moves up in online degree program rankings

The Patton College of Education's online graduate degree program makes the U.S. News & World Report's list again, moving up several spots from last year.

Ohio University’s Patton College of Education rose from No. 68 to No. 62 on the U.S. News & World Report’s ranking of best online graduate education programs.

More than 1,200 programs were reviewed by the U.S. News & World Report, according to a statement released by the university.

“It is wonderful to be recognized once again and to see that we’ve improved over the last year,” Renée Middleton, the dean of Patton College, said in the news release. “I am so happy to see our students, faculty, and staff rewarded for their hard work.”

Middleton also said she anticipates the college’s ranking will improve in following years.

Programs were evaluated based on various factors, such as faculty credentials and training, student engagement, peer reputation, student services and technology and admissions selectivity.

The Patton College scored higher in faculty credentials and training than the University of Florida and the University of Houston, which tied for first place.
