Post Haste: #Womenalsoknowstuff includes OU prof; Acacia is no longer under investigation

Judith Grant is listed as one of the experts on feminist politics and theory on the website #womenalsoknowstuff.

Good morning. Here's what you need to know for Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016

There is now an online “binder full of women,” compiled in the hope of reminding you that women also know stuff.

Political science stuff, to be specific.

A group of women started the website #womenalsoknowstuff with the names and contact information for women who are experts in everything from nuclear weapons to California politics.

Why? Because there is a lack of women’s voices in expert opinions, The Washington Post reported.

Included on the site is chair of Ohio University’s political science department Judith Grant, who is listed as one of the experts on feminist politics and theory.

Grant is the first woman to chair the political science department at OU.

She told The Post last week that, "There's an implicit gender bias in choosing women for leadership positions.”

At OU, 18 of the 42 departments have women at the helm. Those women make, on average, $22,500 fewer than the men who also chair.
