Vote for 'The Post's' Restaurant of the Month

Vote for the next best restaurant, and The Post will do an in-depth feature on it.

 

The Post started a series, Restaurant of the Month, in January as a way to for Post readers to learn more about the history and the food of their favorite restaurants in Athens.

January’s Restaurant of the Month was Union Street Diner, 70 W. Union St. Co-owner Jay Shapiro and the head chef and manager Stan Folden talked about why they like serving customers and their favorite parts about the job. Shapiro and Folden said some of Union Street Diner’s popular dishes include the bacon chicken ranch quesadilla, south of the border burger, the turkey club and the western omelette.

Bagel Street Deli won February’s Restaurant of the Month, and manager Lori Linnevers talked about where all of the food comes from and the restaurant’s push to buy local meat. Sawyer Summers, an employee at Bagel Street Deli, said he likes the family aspect of working at Bagel Street Deli.
