Women's Basketball: Ohio racks in All-Conference honors Monday

Multiple players received honors Monday afternoon.

Ohio junior Quiera Lampkins was named 2015-2016 Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Year on Monday afternoon for the first time in program history.

Lampkins leads the Bobcats in steals per game (2.5) and finished the regular season ranked second in the MAC. She was also named to the new All-MAC Defensive Team and Second Team All-MAC. Junior Jasmine Weatherspoon also made the All-MAC Defensive Team.

Senior Kiyana Black was named First Team All-MAC for the second consecutive season. Black was Ohio’s leading scorer this season with 533 points, averaging 18.4 points per game. She also broke the league record for most three-point field goals made with 112.

Rounding out the accolades for the Bobcats, senior Lexie Baldwin was awarded with All-MAC Honorable Mention. Baldwin averaged 9.5 points and six rebounds per game.

Tuesday announcements will be made for 2015-2016 Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year.
