Good morning. Here’s what you need to know for Thursday, April 7, 2016:
In a few days, students will gather for an infamous springtime tradition: Palmer Fest.
Since the early 1990s, Palmer Fest has been one of the most anticipated events of Athens’ fest season, often the block party where partiers get especially rowdy.
In 2005, the students weren’t the only ones turning up, though.
This Throwback Thursday picture from a May 2005 issue of The Post, retired Ohio University economics professor Jan Palmer takes a shot of something from a pink, plastic flamingo, affectionately dubbed “flambongo.”
Who knows what we’ll see this year?
On Friday and Saturday, be sure to follow The Post on Twitter for breaking news updates on Palmer Place Fest and Palmer Fest.
