Ohio has been selected to host the American Collegiate Hockey Association’s Division I Game of the Week on Oct. 21, per a release by ACHA Men’s D-I Vice President Bill Shannon on Tuesday.
When the Bobcats play the University of Jamestown at Bird Arena on Oct. 21 and 22, the Friday night game will be broadcast online at ESPN3. The game begins at 7 p.m.
“I see this as the beginning of live national coverage of ACHA games on a major US digital network,” Shannon said in the release. “This is a giant step forward for the ACHA.”
The ACHA, in partnership with GoLive Sports Cast, will begin broadcasting a “Men’s Division I Game of the Week” on Oct. 14 with a rematch of last season’s national tournament finals: No. 2 Lindenwood versus No. 1 Iowa State.
Future nationally televised games in November through February will be announced at a later date and will be influenced by matchups, rankings and rivalries, per the release.
