Ohio was selected to host the American Collegiate Hockey Association’s Game of the Week this Friday, when the top-ranked Bobcats will play No. 17 Illinois at Bird Arena.
The game will be nationally broadcasted online via ESPN3 and will start at 7 p.m.
“This is another great opportunity for our hockey program,” Ohio head coach Sean Hogan said in a statement released by the team Monday afternoon. “It is just another step in showing what a great hockey tradition we have here at Bird Arena.”
This will be Ohio's second time hosting an ACHA Game of the Week this season, after playing the University of Jamestown on Oct. 21. The Bobcats lost that game, 3-2, in their only home loss of the season.
Both Ohio and Illinois play in the Central States Collegiate Hockey League, which is a highly competitive division with all five of its members nationally ranked. The Bobcats swept the two-game series against the Fighting Illini at home last season.
