For the fourth time this season, Quiera Lampkins was recognized as Mid-American Conference East Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
Her strong performance a week ago led Ohio to a 2-0 week in conference play with wins against Toledo and Eastern Michigan. Lampkins scored more than 20 points in both games — 26 against Toledo and 22 against Eastern Michigan.
In addition to her points, she had 10 rebounds against Toledo, which gave her fourth double-double of the season.
Last week proved that she's Ohio's best player and when she has an off night, the team struggles. Last week, she had two solid performances, giving Ohio a bigger advantage atop the MAC East division.
Against Eastern Michigan, Lampkins reached over 1,500 career points, putting her third in the all-time list behind 2016 graduate, Kiyanna Black.
Ohio's going to need a similar performance from its star player with Western Michigan and Miami upcoming on the schedule.
Ohio will face Western Michigan on Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. in The Convo and then hit the road to Oxford to face Miami on Saturday for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
