Nathan Rourke has made his presence known in the Mid-American Conference rather quickly.
Rourke was named MAC East Player of the Week on Monday for his efforts in a 59-0 win over Hampton on Saturday.
Rourke rushed for three touchdowns on 50 yards and threw for 72 yards on 6-of-10 passing. He also led five scoring drives Saturday. He was also the first Bobcat to rush for three or more touchdowns in a game since Beau Blankenship in 2012.
"First of all, congratulations to Nathan," coach Frank Solich said. "He came in, did a great job, and right now we've got two quarterbacks prepared to play."
Quinton Maxwell will still be the starter for the Bobcats, but Solich said that Rourke will play as well against Purdue on Friday night.
