No Strings Attached: Coping with a caffeine addictions

Do you ever find yourself frequenting places like Donkey Coffee, Court Street Coffee or Front Room to the point where an employee knows your name or comments on how often they see you? Yeah, me neither. 

If you’re anything like me, you most certainly exceed the recommended daily serving of coffee and you probably hate yourself for allowing your addiction to get this bad, but there’s hope. If you need a few excuses to reconcile with your love of coffee, listen up. 

Caffeine can help you burn fat

Aside from the obvious benefits that caffeine has like keeping you awake for a lecture, it also can help you burn fat, according to an article called “18 reasons why coffee is good for you." Perhaps coffee is helping you burn off some fat, so for that you should be thankful my fellow coffee fiends.

Essential nutrient benefits

According to MSN.com, coffee is packed with supplements like magnesium and potassium which leads me to believe that it is in fact healthy. Yes, that means do not second guess your decision to visit Donkey Coffee for the third time in the past 24 hours. 

Alzheimer’s Disease 

Researchers have found that coffee drinkers have a considerable risk of developing the horrible disease, according to MSN.com. On a serious and very personal note, Alzheimer’s Disease runs in my family, so if drinking a few coffees a day can give me the slightest bit of hope in avoiding it, I’ll take it.

Smarty Pants

Every college student that I know wants to pass their classes and according to MSN’s article, it could all be possible with the help of your dear friend, coffee. Experts have found that coffee can help boost individual’s mental efficiency and capability. Go ahead, reach for your mug everyone.

As if I need any real excuses to drink coffee other than the fact that I love it, I hope we can all use a few of these coffee fun facts as an excuse when our friends say question our obsession.
