Yesterday marked 25 years since the first text message was sent via a cell phone. Neil Papworth, a software engineer at Vodafone, created a Short Message Service (SMS). In 1992, he tested it out and wrote “Merry Christmas” to a co-worker on the night of their Christmas party.
