Ohio University Graduate Student Senate will vote on five resolutions at its Tuesday night meeting, including asking OU to increase health insurance subsidies for graduate students.
The resolution will send letters to administration to subsidize 89 percent of the total cost of health insurance to graduate students with at least one hour per week appointment. That equals to around $1,758.64 annually per student. The increase will cost approximately $2.69 million, according to the resolution.
Additionally, the Graduate Employee Organization launched a campaign demanding OU to increase its health insurance subsidies, according to a previous Post report.
Three of the resolutions include allocating funds from GSS’ budget, including screening Black Panther, funding Women in Sports and Ohio History Graduate Association Conference.
Another resolution will discuss suspending the first reading of a resolution by default.
