An Athens resident was shot in the head Tuesday.
The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a person with a gunshot wound at about 9:30 p.m. Deputies arrived at the residence of Kristy Holland, 50, on Selby Road, and found that Holland had a gunshot wound to the head.
Holland was life-flighted to Grant Hospital in Columbus. After an investigation, deputies arrested Christopher L. Artis, 31, of Albany, and charged him with felonious assault.
Artis is being held at Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail on $50,000 bond.
The case is still under investigation.
