Campus police receive two reports of rape

The Ohio University Police Department received two reports of rape during the weekend of Palmer Fest.

OUPD issued a campus-wide crime alert after a reported rape on South Green. According to the crime alert, a female student reported she was raped by an unknown person near Brown Hall sometime between 11:30 p.m. Saturday night and 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

The case is under investigation, according to the report.

Another person reported rape to the department Saturday at about 12 a.m. near The Convo. EMS transported that person to OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital, according to the department's radio call log.

The reported incidents are the fourth and fifth rape reports OUPD has received this semester.

The department requests anyone with information related to the investigation contact OU police at 740-593-1911.

During Fall Semester, OUPD received six reports of sex-related crimes. The department issued three crime alerts about those incidents.
