Social media is a great way to stay up to date on current happenings, and that includes what’s going on at your favorite places around Athens. Whether you’re looking for a deal or longing to know more about local eateries, here are the businesses in Athens you should hit that follow button for:
Donkey Coffee, 17 W. Washington St., should be an account on everyone’s feed.
The coffee shop’s Instagram is a nice blend of updates from the shop, people who stop in and the drink of the week. Oh, there are also dog pictures.
Brenen’s, 38 S. Court St., doubles as a coffee and sandwich shop, and its Twitter is full of updates on current coffee deals and the menu. The shop also knows how to be relatable to the college students and has joined other local businesses in the fight against corporate takeover:

If you love scrolling through your timeline and seeing delicious desserts, follow Fluff Bakery, 8 N. Court St., on Instagram. The account features the pies and cakes for the day, as well as other mouth-watering meals and pastries.
This restaurant is the perfect follow if you love foodstagrams. The plated beauties at Purple Chopstix, 371 Richland Ave., are enough to make you want to make a reservation and try the food on your timeline.
Who knew bagels could look so good? Well, from Bagel Street Deli, 27 S. Court St., it’s not a surprise. Follow the restaurant on Instagram to see your favorite bagel place show off its offerings.
