Man wanted for rape in unknown residence hall

The Ohio University Police Department reported that an unknown man is wanted for rape.

On Saturday night or early Sunday morning, a woman was reported to have been raped in an OU residence hall. The report was filed by a third-party, not the victim.

The suspect is a tall, blond man.

The victim was walking from Mill Street to Crawford Hall on South Green when the unknown man emerged from an unknown residence hall, pulled her inside the building and raped her, according to the campus crime alert.

The survivor is anonymous, meaning that OUPD is unable to investigate the case further at this time.

If you have information that may be pertinent to the safety of the community, you are encouraged to report it to OUPD at 740-593-1911. If you or someone you know is a survivor of sexual assault, resources are available for help.
