Volleyball: Everything you need to know for Ohio's weekend in Miami and Bowling Green

Ohio will travel to Miami and Bowling Green this weekend for two crucial matches in the East Division of the Mid-American Conference. A pair of wins will place the Bobcats in first place in the division. Here’s everything you need to know for the two matches.

Friday

@ Miami

Match time: 7 p.m.

Ohio record: 8-9, 3-1 MAC

Miami record: 11-5, 3-1 MAC

Saturday

@ Bowling Green

Match time: 5 p.m.

Bowling Green record: 9-8, 3-1 MAC

News and notes

—Tia Jimerson returned to practice this week and is now being evaluated on a day-to-day basis. The sophomore middle blocker has been out since sustaining a leg injury on Sept. 1 and has a chance to return to the starting lineup this weekend.

Jimerson only practiced in blocking-oriented drills on Tuesday.

“You can’t (be out) for a month and then jump right back in there and expect to be all the way back,“ coach Deane Webb said. “She has some work to do.”

— Kyra Slavik is out for the season after undergoing surgery on her hand. The freshman setter finished with 136 aces and 52 digs.

— Jaime Kosiorek is nine service aces away from breaking Ohio’s all-time ace record (162).
