Student Senate: Mayor Steve Patterson to give presentation; body hopes to pass five resolutions

This upcoming meeting Student Senate is looking to pass five resolutions to approve budgets and appoint two senators. 

There will also be a presentation by Mayor Steve Patterson. 

The three resolutions will approve budget for Homecoming supplies, tabling and the Judicial Panel.

The budget to be approved for Homecoming supplies will cost $134.33. It will provide funding for acrylic paint, a Bobcat flag, snacks and Brenen’s coffee. 

Another resolution will look to approve funding for the Blackburn Spencer Scholarship Pageant. The pageant is hosted by the Multicultural Center. Through fundraising, a question/answer period and a formal scene, contestants compete to be crowned King or Queen. The winner is awarded scholarship money through the Blackburn Spencer Scholarship and the Blackburn Spencer Achievement Award. The total cost to fund the table is $144. 

A resolution to amend the budget to give the Judicial Panel a discretionary will be discussed. It is budgeted at $100 for the Judicial Panel. 

The total approved budget cost will be $378.33. 

The fourth resolution will appoint Janie Peterson as a senator for the Women’s Affairs Commission for the duration of the academic year. 

Another resolution will appoint Senator Chris Hrytzik as the role of Chair on the Committee of the Budget for the duration of the academic year.
