Ohio’s entered a recent slumber. It has lost four consecutive games, most recently a 1-0 home loss to Kent State. In part of the Bobcats recent struggles are their inability to generate any offense, which is atypical as they’re know to bring in the runs.
The Bobcats, however, have the opportunity to get back on track as it travels to Akron this weekend for another Mid-American Conference series.
As it currently stands, the Zips are at the bottom in the MAC standings with an .182 overall win percentage compared to the Bobcats’ .610.

Last season when the two programs met, Ohio had its way as it swept Akron in a combined 25-2 final. Two of the games ended in early innings as Ohio defeated Akron 8-0 in six innings and 12-0 in five innings.
The Zips dropped a mid-week game on Wednesday 6-5 on the road at Buffalo. The Bulls won on a walk-off home run for their fourth conference win of the season.
Prior to its game against Buffalo, Akron lost a series to Toledo. The Zips avoided the sweep, however, and won their second conference game of the season behind an 11-5 effort.
