7 colors to paint your nails this spring

With the end of the semester quickly approaching, most students are spending their hours studying for finals, applying for internships or setting up jobs for the summer. Spring is in the air, however, and many people are looking for a break from the hard work. A great way to take a break and practice self-care is to paint your nails. Here are seven spring nail polish colors to try when taking a much-needed break:

Lavender

Lavender is one of the classic spring colors. The pale purple color is typically seen in spring fashion and on the lavender herb used in many essential oils and aromatherapies. For a calming but still bold color, lavender is definitely the way to go.

Rapture rose

In spring 2018, Pantone released the color rapture rose: a princess-like, intense pink shade that is usually combined with other light colors. Though it was released a year ago, the color still proves to be a bold choice. When feeling like royalty, rapture rose is definitely the perfect color.

Sky blue

Sky blue is a color seen frequently when looking up. Though it may be common, it’s one of the best colors to wear in the springtime, because with spring comes blue skies and good weather. It could be an accent color to a white based nail polish, or it could stand alone. Sky blue nails will bring happy feelings of good weather and are a perfect tribute to the time of year.

Nile green

Nile green closely represents the green color of grass. Of course, in the springtime the grass looks more green than ever after a winter of seeing only snow on the ground. Nile green is a special color, like sky blue, that could serve as an accent color or could stand alone. For a true outdoorsy spring color, nile green works well.

White

Though it may be an unusual choice for a nail color, white is a classic color that can go with most seasons. White is especially fun in the spring season because it can be used as a base color to put colored flowers on top of. White may seem like a basic color, but even without the accent flowers it can be a great and subtle choice for nails.

Yellow

Yellow is another common spring color, usually seen in flowers or spring/summer clothing. What’s especially unique about yellow is the fact that pretty much any shade of yellow can be an appropriate spring nail color. The most often used for the spring season are pale yellows and then a regular bright yellow. It’s a beautiful shade to try and will instantly bring around happy feelings.

Bright orange

There are many shades of orange, and though some oranges are usually used as a summer shade, certain shades work perfectly in the spring palette. Specifically, a bright orange will compliment the season. The happiness and bold nature of the color will make any nails stand out and is certain to make any regular style pop for springtime.
