The Athens Police Department and Athens County EMS responded Friday to a report of an unconscious and unresponsive man on College Street near the parking garage.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers determined him to be a 36-year-old Athens resident, according to a news release.
As of now, officials believe the man fell from the top of the parking garage.
The APD Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating the death. The man’s name is withheld until his family is notified.
