Mid-American Conference coaches voted three members of the Ohio volleyball team to the Preseason All-MAC East Division team on Tuesday and selected the Bobcats to finish third in the MAC East.
Senior Lizzie Stephens, and juniors Vera Giacomazzi and Tia Jimerson were named to the All-MAC East Division for the second consecutive year. No team had more representatives than the Bobcats in either division, and Miami and Ball State each had two players voted to the team.
Stephens finished third in the conference last season with 50 service aces (.43 per set) and was third on Ohio with 335 kills (2.86 per set). The Bobcats also received one vote to be the regular season MAC champions and will look to improve from a fourth-place finish in the MAC East last season.
Ohio will begin its 2019 season against Fresno State at the Green Bay Invitational on Friday.
