Woody Pines at 6 p.m. at The Dairy Barn Arts Center, 8000 Dairy Ln. Listen to a relaxing set by Woody Pines, sponsored by Envisage Wealth and Hocking Valley Bank.

Beyond Words at 8 p.m. at the Elizabeth Evans Baker Theater in Kantner Hall. Come see a show written and directed by Bill Bowers as part of the Tantrum Summer Theater Festival. This show will also be performed at the same time on Saturday.

Blackbone: 25 Years of the Affrilachian Poets at 8 p.m. at Forum Theater, 19 S. College St. Performed by Affrilachian poets, who explore what it’s like to be a person of color in Appalachia, enjoy an evening of moving spoken word. The show is part of the Tantrum Summer Theater Festival and will be performed at the same time on Saturday.

The Birth Circle Yard Sale at 8 a.m. at the Athens Community Center, 701 E. State St. Stock up on all your baby and maternity needs at great prices. Proceeds will go toward helping The Birth Circle provide free programming for local women and families.
