Crumbles: Luke Boyd Art Opening at 5 p.m. at ARTS/West, 132 W. State St. Check out Ohio University alumnus Luke Boyd’s new art exhibit, in which he uses cake to display emotion and conditions. Free cake will be provided.

Saturday 

10th Global Big Latch On at 10 a.m. at the Athens Farmers Market, 1000 E. State St. Nursing mothers, children and friends are invited to this inclusive breastfeeding event, sponsored by Ohio WIC and Hopewell Health Centers.

August Open House at 1 p.m. at ReUse on Union, 751 W. Union St. Artist Danette Pratt will show attendees how to make their own SeriouslySickSock pins, made out of recycled socks. Free food will also be provided.

Bounty on the Bricks at 7 p.m. on Court Street. Celebrate the hard work of local farmers with this private dinner. Each ticket includes a gourmet meal and supports the Southeast Ohio Food Bank and food pantries in surrounding counties.

James Christopher Band at 7 p.m. at Little Fish Brewing Company, 8675 Armitage Road. See the band on its Drink to Donate Tour, which benefits children learning to play music.
