5 ways to dive into the fall spirit

Fall is arguably the best time of the year. The leaves change colors, sweater weather is in full swing, spooky season approaches with Halloween and everything seems content. In the midst of school stress and harsh realities, fall provides a fun time for people to get into the spirit of the season. Here are the top five ways to dive into the fall spirit this season:

The perfect wardrobe

Fall is a prime season for your wardrobe. The plaid patterns, sweaters, boots and so much more all come together to create a cozy and cute selection to show off during the fall season.

However, fall doesn’t just require plaid and sweaters. Jean jackets, cardigans, blazers, cute patterned pants and more can all create gorgeous fall looks. Fall is a great time to break out the cutest clothes and accessories.

Dig out your favorite oversized sweater to jump-start your spirit for the cozy season.

Decorations

What better way to get in the season spirit than by physically surrounding yourself with fall decorations? Fall is an easy season to decorate for because it doesn’t require much: just some orange and brown colors, certain Halloween-themed decorations and lots of leaves.

Some ideas for decorations are pumpkins, which can turn into an activity by carving them with friends or family; or spooky decorations to signify Halloween, like ghosts, zombies or fake spiderwebs and strings of leaves to hang up around the room to make the fall colors prominent. Decorating is a fun activity to get you into the fall spirit, and once all of the decorations are up, it’ll be a consistent reminder of how amazing fall is.

Watch fall movies and television shows

If decorating doesn’t fully immerse you in the fall spirit, throwing your cares away and diving into a fantasy world will. There are certain movies and television shows that just radiate fall energy — insert: Harry Potter series.

Fall isn’t just for Halloween themed programs, but it’s also beneficial to watch movies like When Harry Met Sally…, Dead Poets Society, The Princess Bride and It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and television shows like This Is Us and Gilmore Girls

These movies and shows scream fall and make you excited to snuggle up this spooky season.

Go for a hike or spending time outside

Fall weather is perfect for outdoor activities because it’s the bliss point between the hot summer weather and cold winter months.

Going for a hike, taking a long walk, riding a bike or just sitting on a blanket outside are all great ways to soak up the fall weather and get into the season spirit. Fall weather is fleeting, so enjoying the breeze is a necessity and a great way to get all you can out of fall.

Eat the best fall foods

Fall foods are arguably the best part of the season. You can wear all the cute clothes you want and watch all the fall-themed television you desire, but none of it compares to the perfect fall treats.

There are a few miscellaneous treats, but the main ones are apples and pumpkins. With apples, some of the best treats include caramel apples, apple pie, apple cider and apple cider donuts. With pumpkins, the best treats include pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie.

Some other great fall foods include hot chocolate, butternut squash soup, tomato soup with grilled cheese, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. These dishes and snacks will help you really feel like fall and will please your taste buds in the process.
